Captain Mohammed Abdulla Khalfan, head of the Highways Section at the General Department of Traffic, said the campaign, which was launched nearly a month ago, aims at curbing traffic violations near the malls, especially around the Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Batuta Mall.

The area near these two malls, it may be noted, reportedly witnesses a large number of traffic violations. Khalfan said that those violating the traffic rules were endangering people's lives.
