DM launches ‘safe sacrifice’ drive
DUBAI — The Dubai Municipality has launched an awareness drive called ‘Ensure your health by safe sacrifice’ to protect public health in preparation for Eid Al Adha.
The campaign aims to introduce ways of safe sacrificial slaughter, create public awareness of the importance of the role of the veterinary doctor, and the dangers of slaughtering outside designated abattoirs and seeking the services of roaming butchers.
The awareness campaign, which kicked off earlier this week in schools, targets housewives, school and university students and others.
An exhibition on the ways of safe slaughter and warning of the dangers of slaughtering outside on the public health was held in the main building of the municipality on Wednesday.
Employees of the Public Health Services Department have been assigned to educate people in the cattle market. Awareness leaflets and booklets will also be distributed through cooperative societies, vegetable market, cattle market, Auto Market and the municipality centres. — news@khaleejtimes.com
