Dh65 million mosque opens on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurates Al Aziz Mosque in the presence of religious scholars who are guests of the UAE President.

Abu Dhabi - Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has inaugurated Al Aziz Mosque on Al Reem Island in the presence of religious scholars who are guests of the UAE President.

Shaikh Nahyan offered the Friday prayers in the mosque, which has a capacity of 2,500 worshippers. The mosque has been built over a land area of 5,100 square metres. After the prayer, Shaikh Nahyan toured the mosque.

The Dh65 million three-storeyed mosque was built at the expense of Hassan Abdullah Ismaik.

Dr Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, attended the inauguration.
