Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO, DEWA, and Nabil Ali Alyousuf, executive president of the Dubai School of Government, signed the Memorandum of Understanding, launching the collaborative leadership development programme.
"This programme has been prepared and implemented in line with the Dubai strategic plan of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which is based on developing the human resources by improving the skills and enhancing the capabilities of our staff," said Al Tayer.
"DEWA is keen to take part in the unprecedented strategic and economic development taking place in Dubai. It has thus drawn up a strategic plan to form the cadres that are competent and capable of performing their duties according to the modern administration methodology," added Al Tayer.
He said that the programme involves 30 employees of DEWA as a first batch to be followed by other batches.
DEWA's CEO said the programme aimed at developing the personal leadership skills of the staff, their administrative capacities and creative thinking. "Modern administration relies on setting the right objectives, communication and stimulation styles and the outcomes. The manager should have the know-how and a leader's personality to inspire others and encourage them to follow suit."
