Some families chose to celebrate at home, some in the cities’ parks and many others decided to make it to the malls owing to the humid weather conditions.

Celebrating Eid is for all in Dubai. The fist day of Eid Al Fitr saw tens of thousands of shoppers and visitors heading to the main shopping malls in Dubai to celebrate.

In-mall events and activities organised as part of ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebration by main malls such as Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates,

Dubai Festival City, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Mall, Mercato and Al Ghurair Centre attracted thousands of people.

Nathan Jo, a resident of Dubai and IT technician, said: “It’s too hot to go elsewhere. Malls are the best bet if you want to take the entire family out.”

Big celebrations also took place at Modesh World. Three kids won cash prizes or Ediyat of Dh5,000 each day of Eid just by visiting Modhesh World. The edutainment destination for kids turned into a party place from morning till midnight with several shows and events that captured the true spirit and joy of Eid, especially for kids. Families were treated to colourful balloon drops, confetti rain showers, UAE traditional dances and live acrobatic shows, to name a few.

Modhesh World will be open everyday until August 25 at Dubai World Trade Centre Halls from 10am to midnight. Entry tickets for all are priced at Dh10.

One of the notable features during the celebrations was the colourful and delightful city decorations for Eid. It was hard to miss the bright multi-coloured logo of ‘Eid in Dubai’ on flags and banners positioned on bridges and other outdoor spaces highlighting the festive mood of the city.
