Boat catches fire at UAQ port
UMM AL QUWAIN - One of the cabins of a vessel berthed at Umm Al Quwain port was destroyed in a fire that broke out around 10.45pm on Friday.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
Firefighters from Umm Al Quwain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah managed to contain the blaze before it could spread to other parts of the vessel.
The fire-fighting operations continued until the wee hours of Saturday, sources said.
The cause of the fire was not known.
The sources said the vessel 'Rema' had come from Somalia.
