Blue coming to town
DUBAI - The new hit band Blue will be performing live in Dubai on Sept 30 after a six-week quest for ‘UAE’s Most Wanted Concert’ by Mirage Promotions in it’s autumn line-up. “We received an overwhelming response from concert goers who added Blue to their wish list of the five most wanted concerts. So we are thrilled to bring to Dubai the biggest pop acts in the world,” said Thomas Ovesen, General Manager, Mirage Promotions. The concert will take place in Dubai Media City with an expected audience of 10,000.
In May 2001, Blue released their debut single. Two No. 1 albums, three No 1 singles, two BRIT awards, 5 million albums and 2.9 million singles later, Blue are now officially one of the biggest pop acts in the world. Comprising four London-based lads, Duncan James, Anthony Costa, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe, Blue released their first album in 2001, the anthemic “All Rise” which entered the UK chart at No 4 and stayed in the top 10 for five weeks. The next two singles “Too Close” and “If you comeback” went on to become even bigger hits.
