n recent years, France has seen an increase in the number of Emirati students studying in the country. The interest has led to tremendous backing from French universities and the French government for those living in the UAE who are looking to study overseas.
Fifteen prestigious business schools and universities will be present at the UAE Global Education Fairs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, looking to offer support and knowledge for those curious to see what France has to offer.
France devotes almost 20 per cent of its annual national budget to education, equating to thousands of Euros per student. The country's belief in education has led to technological breakthroughs such as the high-speed train, the smart card, the Ariane rocket and Airbus planes.
It is also the world's fourth largest economy, home to world-class manufacturers like Renault, Michelin, L'Oréal, Total, Orange and Carrefour, and many thousands of promising start-ups and thriving small businesses.
France's strong economy and devotion to education has led to a safe and progressive setting, renowned especially for its cultural heritage - fashion, films, food and language.
Currently, more than 260,000 international students attend universities and other institutions of higher education in France. This is due to the commitment of the French government to education both domestic and international. Notably, French universities and other educational institutions do not distinguish between international students and French students.
Both groups face identical admission and tuition requirements; both receive the same degrees. Many of these international students are from the GCC and the committed French delegation coming to the UAE Global Education Fairs is proof of the excellent relationship between France and the UAE, as well as the desire to strengthen the cooperation.
France will be a Guest of Honour at the UAE Global Education Fairs and numerous higher education institutions with a large variety of course options will be available to speak, all of whom would be happy to answer questions on language, cost, degrees available, and other topics.
As the UAE and France have a special relationship, French institutions are also increasingly choosing the UAE as a country in which to open new campuses for those searching for an internationally recognised diploma, degree or certificate, but who would also prefer to stay closer to home.
The French national public agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services and international mobility, Campus France, will be present and able to help students directly with administrative procedures or questions (visas, governmental programmes, daily life in France and other topics).
For students who are considering France as a possible study destination, this is a unique opportunity to compare all the courses, costs and benefits in a single location and to talk directly with knowledgeable people from
each university.
France is one of the featured countries at this year's Global Education Fairs with some of its best universities and business schools participating and offering a large variety of course options and detailed information about life and education in France.
