The organisation will restart its activities in September, with a special festival slated for the holy month of Ramadan. The festival, titled “The Six Nights of Ramadan”, will start with the screening of four movies from North Africa. In cooperation with the Embassy of Tunisia in Abu Dhabi, four films from this country will be screened.

The programme will also have a concert of songs from the Gulf region sung by Anees Al Nahdi.

Another evening will be dedicated to current affairs issues, as part of which, the documentary film “The nightmare of Darwin” by Huber Sauper will be screened. The theme of the documentary —ecology and globalisation- will later be the subject of an open debate.

“The Six Nights of Ramadan” will also include a photographic exhibition titled “Behind the Scenes” by Phillipe Mallein, in which he will present the stories of construction workers in Abu Dhabi.

However, the exact dates for the Ramadan festival are yet to be confirmed.

As for the French, Arabic, English and Spanish courses organised by Alliance Francaise, they will also be stopped for the summer, with the next term starting on September 9.
