The official also said that obtaining a medical fitness certificate for visa processing would become speedier than ever as Dohms was planning to install state-of-the-art digital X-ray machines in all its centres issuing medical fitness certificates soon.

Maisa Al Bustani, head of the Medical Fitness Centres, Dohms, said that the Satwa Centre, which used to serve around 300 customers monthly prior to the installation of the machine, issued fitness certificates to around 45,000 customers in September alone.

“We are going to replace the old analog X-ray machines in all the medical fitness centres under Dohms soon. This will help in offering a speedy service to our customers in all the centres,” she said.

“We would like to tell the companies located near Satwa Medical Fitness Centre to make use of the improved facilities. They don’t need to send their employees to other busy fitness centres as now Satwa centre has the facilities to cater to thousands of customers,” she added.

The official pointed out that the service could even get better once the centre starts its afternoon service. “We are planning to start the afternoon service in Satwa centre after Ramadan. Clients can come on an appointment basis also as their company officials can book appointments on-line and through phone calls.”

Bustani said that Dohms was planning to launch more centres in various parts of Dubai to cater to the needs of increasing number of companies in the emirate.

“We will build these centres close to the areas where the companies and their accommodations are located. Our new centre in Ghusais is almost ready for launch. Another centre will soon come up in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC),” she said.

The other main centres that issue medical fitness certificates for new visas and renewal of visas are located in Al Maktoum Hospital and Jebel Ali.
