The closures were ordered in a campaign launched by the department's inspectors covering restaurants and cafeterias in the emirate.

"A total of 186 outlets were inspected last night in Abu Dhabi and on the outskirts of city a well as 20 outlets in Musafah, 23 in Shahama and 23 in Bani Yas. A total of 119 outlets were found to be abiding by the guidelines," Fahd Mohgammed Al Zabeedi, Inspection In-Charge at the department, said, adding that 67 outlets were closed as their violations must not be tolerated. He said inspectors conducted intensive campaigns and issued fines.
