As many of you may know, The 2017 Middle East Film and Comic Con kicked off yesterday at Dubai World Trade Centre. The annual celebration of pop culture, always receives a warm welcome to many of Dubai - and even the GCC's many comic and film enthusiasts.
But for some who are not ardent followers of both, some may ask - what's the reason to go there? Here are some reasons why we think you should.

You may know someone

There's a huge chance you might meet someone you know in Comic Con. We're not talking about your friends or family here. But you'll meet some of your superhero idols in MEFCC. Who doesn't know Iron Man, Superman or even Darth Vader? You'll see them - loads of them.

Great deals are abound

Many exhibitors present in MEFCC have put up Comic-Con-only deals on some of their merchandise. If you ever want a superhero memorabilia in your room, get it for cheap there.

It's a family event

Here's the thing, MEFCC has costumed visitors that your kids may recognise. It's great that they see their heroes as 'real-life' because that feeds the imagination. There's also an outdoor activity area with mega-dinosaur Godzilla on display.

It supports local art

An honourable initiative by MEFCC is supporting local artists. Every year, the event hosts artists from all over the region to showcase their work. Many visitors have the golden opportunity to get themselves something tastefully made in the country that doesn't break the bank.

It's a cultural experience

Every year, Comic Con brings a cultural experience to Dubai. It allows locals and expats to enjoy a culture that comes from both eastern and western hemispheres. Expect Japanese anime in one side and western cartoons and movies on the other.
