200 AC units gutted in a massive blaze
SHARJAH — About 200 air-conditioning units were gutted in a massive blaze that erupted in a warehouse located in Umm Khannur area in Sharjah in the wee hours of yesterday. No casualties were reported. According to eyewitnesses, the fire erupted in the early morning at about 4.30. “We noticed the smoke spreading around the area. Initially, we could not find where it originated from. When we searched around, we detected that the smoke was coming from the warehouse,” said an eyewitness.
“We informed the Police and Civil Defence officials immediately. They rushed to the spot and controlled the fire after about an hour,” he added. “All the air-conditioned units kept inside the warehouse were completely gutted. Still, we do not know the cause of the fire,” he said. The police started an investigation to find out what caused the fire.
