160 couples tie the knot in mass wedding in Al Ain

Lt.-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, and other Shaikhs and senior officials have attended the first mass wedding of 160 couples of Bani Kaab tribe and other tribes in the UAE.
The event, held at Al Khubaisi Wedding Hall in Al Ain, was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
It was organised as part of an initiative of Ali Salem Al Kaabi, Director of the Office of the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The mass wedding was also attended by a number of Shaikhs, including Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and Shaikh Zayed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan. Members of the Federal National Council (FNC) and Abu Dhabi Executive Council, ambassadors, top officials and tribes dignitaries were also in attendance.

Shaikh Saif bin Zayed expressed happiness at taking part in the event.
Al Kaabi said: "Mass weddings, encouraged by the UAE leadership, contribute to reducing marriage costs and expenditure in the light of the continued support of the government."
He noted they have become social and national events which reflect solidarity and cohesion among Emiratis.
Participants in the group wedding extended thanks and appreciation to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed for their support to the event.
