The portal was launched on a trial basis on February 12 that coincided with a presidential decree that summoned the Council to commence its first session of the 14th Legislative Chapter after the country's historic democratic FNC election. The portal was designed to provide recent news and reports pertaining to the FNC sessions and the General Secretariat activities.

"The web site has been designed in a way that could clearly expose the responsibilities and tasks of the Council. It is divided into four pages; one for the public and one for the members only. The two other pages, which are yet to be launched are devoted for the General Secretariat and the FNC media centre," said Mohammed Salim Al Mazroui, FNC General Secretary.

The electronic page aims to enhance communication between the House members and the public in the best interest of UAE nationals. The web site users are welcome to offer suggestions and proposals they believe would better enhance the process of the FNC, he said.

"We believe the present design of this web site has proved to be efficient in meeting the public demands. However, we are planning to further develop the facility to ensure more participation of nationals from different walks of life." he added.

The FNC web site includes all the draft bills which are under study, the international conventions, constitution of the country and the executive by-laws of the Council, general topics related to the House, in addition to public enquires and complaints.
