In his last posts on social media, Kobe Bryant congratulated LA Lakers superstar LeBron James for a major achievement with a tweet and a picture of the two of them together.
Bryant congratulated James on passing him to become the third-highest scorer in NBA history with 33,655 points, encouraging him to climb even higher on the rankings. Bryant had previously held the position with 33,643 points.

In a parallel tweet, posted mere hours before the BA star's tragic death, he encouraged James to continue 'to move the game forward'.

Hours after the news of Bryant's death broke, James was spotted grieving outside the Lakers' team plane, hugging people and wiping away tears.

 James had just done an interview after Bryant's posts with ESPN's SportsCenter, reflecting on the impact that Kobe Bryant had on his life. James spoke of the Lakers star visiting a youth basketball camp he attended as a child.

"I happened to be one of the kids that was there and I was just listening," James said.
"I was just trying to soak up everything that I could and I remember one thing that he said. 'If you want to try to be great at it, or want to be one of the greats you have to put the work in. There's no substitution for work.'"
Kobe Bryant retired from the NBA in 2016. Many celebrities, athletes and politicians have paid tribute to the star after his death yesterday.
