Sulayem had supported Bryant during difficult times in his personal life.

Emirati businessman, Ahmed bin Sulayem, the Executive Chairman of DMCC and the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange, has paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant in a moving social media post.

"My deepest condolences, to @vanessabryant and the family of @kobebryant," he writes, addressing the late basketball star's wife and family.

"Number 24 will forever be with us," he adds, referring to Bryant's famous jersey number. "Here is to my greatest of all time."

In the five hours since it's been posted, the tribute montage has received 667 likes and 31 comments, condoling the legend's death. Commenters include former Miss Universe Natalie Ackermann and Saudi Arabian artist Abdullah Qandeel.

Bin Sulayem had publicly been a fan of Bryant, taking out a full-page ad in the LA Times in June 2013 to pay tribute to him. He had also hosted Bryant in September 2013 during his first visit to the UAE, where he presented him with a DMCC Free Zone license
