As temperatures reached a scorching 48°C in Arizona, the plastic on the road is melting and the cactus can't withhold the heat either.
According to a story in the Daily Mail, 47 cooling centers have opened in the city and 50 flights have been cancelled as it is too hot to fly.
Arizona is not a stranger to heat waves but residents shared pictures of freaky things happening on the ground like melting of mailboxes, cooking pancakes in the sun, tyres being burst and motorists wearing oven mitts to hold the steering wheel.
As the temperatures continue to soar high, Twitteratis took to the platform to share pictures of how hot the days really are in the city.
