The world's first airport was built in Iraq way back in 5000 BC and the same has been the hub for space exploration. This was stated by Iraq's Transport Minister Kazem Finjan during a press conference in the southern Iraqi province Dhi Qar.
According to The New Arab, the minister stated the space travel was invented by Sumerians in Iraq and that Sumerians discovered Pluto falsely claiming it to be the solar system's "twelfth planet" and discovered by NASA.
In support of his statements, the minister urged his audiences to study the works of Sumerian experts that threw light on the Sumerians awareness of solar system.
The Sumerians represent the oldest known civilization in Iraq  that reached its peak in 2,700-2,400 BC .
However, the first manned space journey is largely believed to have taken place in 1957 under Soviet space programme.
