In a bizarre incident, a Nottingham woman made a desperate call to the ambulance services over a cracked egg.
In the audio recording of the call posted on Facebook by the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), an unnamed woman can be heard seeking advice.
"I have a box of eggs in the fridge. One of them was cracked so I moved the eggs into the lid of the box. And the box has been open in the fridge overnight. Can you keep a box of eggs open in the fridge?" the woman can be heard saying.
EMAS said that they received a 999 call about a broken egg in a fridge on January 23.
"This is NOT the right 999 call. The service is here for emergencies only."
"Emergencies include strokes, cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties and unconsciousness Please only call 999 in an emergency so that we can help the people who need us the most," EMAS Facebook post stated.
