Thirty-three-year old Pottachole Ameer and his 45-year-old mother-in-law Kavumpuram Jemeela died in an accident on the Barka-Nakhal road on Tuesday evening, according to Times of Oman. Their car collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. Ameer's father-in-law who works in Dubai has landed in Oman to assist the family.

Eight-year-old Dilha Saabi and two-year-old Fatima Jifna, Ameer's chidren, were seriously injured in the accident and are being treated in Al Khoud Sultan Qaboos University hospital. Ameer's widow and his other daughter only have minor injuries.

The family were en route to Nakhal. Ameer was running a hypermarket there for the last three months. He has been in Oman for a decade.
