80-year-old woman fights off robber who tried to snatch her bag

Manhattan - Police said the elderly woman suffered minor injuries

An 80-year-old woman gave a robber a tough fight who was trying to steal her purse on Tuesday night outside her apartment in Upper East Side of Manhattan.
The incident captured on CCTV, shows the elderly woman is attacked by a man as soon as she enters her apartment building. The man who followed her to her building suddenly grabs her purse and pulls it several times but the woman firmly holds her purse, not letting it go. The woman's scream alerts her neighbour who comes out of his apartment and that's when the robber is forced to flee from the scene.

The video on Daily Mail was released by the NYPD shows the robber continued his attempt of snatching the woman's purse until the neighbour got closer and is seen running off with his accomplice. Police said the elderly woman suffered minor injuries
Police added that the two men and a third were involved in a similar robbery last month where they snatched the purse of a 23-year-old woman, according to NBC New York.
