What are you reading now?

Reflections on Happiness & Positivity by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. I like that the book highlights how incredibly important it is to balance work and life. Through it, His Highness shows his people how he managed all of his struggles and leads this promising country.

A book that changed your life?

The Shift by Dr Wayne Dyer. We are all looking for a purpose in life, whether it's solving world hunger, increasing the country's economy, giving our family a better future, growing sales or looking for a better company with a higher pay. The book tells us how to be content and grateful every day of our lives, and explores what would be a good place to start a journey of self-discovery.

Favourite literary character?

This is a tough one. I have so many, I cannot choose just one. Every character is so different and that's what makes each of them so unique. If I absolutely had to pick one, it would have to be King George VI from The King's Speech. He's a king who suffers from difficulties with public speaking, but who fights and overcomes his fear and keeps moving forward.

A memorable book quote?

"Every successful leader needs space for contemplation and retreat, because these two practices show you the facts as they are, without embellishment or glittery facades" - Reflections on Happiness & Positivity. Sometimes, with the busy routine of our lives, we push on till we are drained. The fatigue catches up with us and we get tired of everything and forget about ourselves. Speaking from experience as an entrepreneur and a mother, it is so important to disconnect, meditate and reflect on what you are doing on a daily basis in order to reignite enthusiasm and renew energy. This can help you find clarity in being kind as well as more passionate in all you do.
