I'm 30 years old and a regular reader of your column. I have a dark mark on my nose, and it seems to be getting darker everyday. It disappears at times when I use certain creams, but soon returns. It looks like a cross between a burn and a freckle. I'm really worried about it, so please tell me if there is a natural remedy for this.

Potato juice has a lightening effect and evens out the skin tone. Grate a raw potato and then squeeze and collect the juice. Add 1 tbsp of the juice to 1 tsp of yoghurt and massage this onto the mark. Leave this on for an hour before rinsing with cold water. Do this every day to see results.
I'm a 19-year-old girl, and I got chicken pox a month ago. I unknowingly picked the spots when it dried off and now I have marks all over my face. I also have dry skin. Can you please suggest a remedy to remove these marks as soon as possible?

Take 2 tbsps of coconut milk, half a tbsp of rice powder and half a tbsp of cornflour. Make a thick mask and apply onto your face; scrub the skin for a couple of minutes. Coconut milk brightens and exfoliates the skin while cornflour makes it smooth. The rice will help tone the skin. Do this every day for best results.
I'm a 27-year-old man from India, currently living in Abu Dhabi. My problem is that my face is very dry, and I also have a problem with hair fall. Please tell me what I should do for these problems.

Aloe vera gel is a rich moisturiser and cleanser for both the hair and the skin. Apply this onto your scalp and massage well. For your face, take some aloe vera gel and add almond milk to make a mask. Massage this onto the face and rinse with warm water, followed by cold water. Do this hair and face treatment every day. Almond milk is very nourishing and will treat your dry skin.
I'm 16 years old, and my problem is that the areas above and below my lips (up till my chin) are very dark. Is there a natural remedy for that? Moreover, my skin is really dry and, if I do not continuously use face creams, it looks as though it has been scratched. I even have to resort to applying these creams before I put on any makeup. Please suggest some effective home remedies to help me solve these issues.

For your condition, there's nothing better than a mask of cucumber yoghurt to lighten and moisturise the skin. Yoghurt moisturises, while cucumber calms and lightens skin. I would advise you to apply this mask twice a day for best results.
I'm 23 years old and a new mum. After my delivery, I noticed that the colour of my stomach has turned darker, like a tan. Is there any reason - and, more importantly, any solution - for this?

After childbirth, the skin requires rich exfoliation. Make a creamy almond paste and apply this to your face and stomach, only when your body is wet. After 20 minutes, use it to exfoliate the body and then rinse in the shower. An easy way to do this is by exfoliate the body with this paste, instead of using soap, while bathing.
