I am 12, and have a lot of problems. 1) I'm really tanned; my skin colour is usually yellowish, but now it's dark brown. 2) My elbows, underarms, knees and back of my neck are really dark. 3) My eyebrows are thin, and my eyelashes are short and thin too. I would like to have thick eyebrows and lashes. 4) The area around my eyes is brown in colour. Please suggest some easy, natural home remedies.

Water, fresh fruits and lemon water will help cleanse and brighten your skin. Have this a couple of times a day. Apply a mask of tomato juice mixed with aloe vera gel on hands, face, behind your neck and under eye area, and leave on for 30 minutes daily: this will help lighten and moisturise your skin. Castor oil is the best treatment to thicken eyebrows and lashes. Apply a thin film on eyebrows and lashes, gently massage, and then leave overnight.
I am a young girl and a great fan of your column. I love your remedies as they are very simple. Can you please suggest a remedy for hair fall? I would also like soft, white skin. Tips, please?

Thanks a lot for liking my column! Take 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and an equal amount of onion juice and massage into scalp. Shampoo off after 30 minutes. Do this thrice a week to see the results. For skin: papaya is not just a nutritional fruit but also a skin and body cleanser, softener and brightener. Apply this daily on your skin for best results.

Since the past three years I have rosacea. I did an allopathy treatment, but nothing happened. I took medicines and applied cream, and it only got worse. I tried Ayurvedic treatment, but could not continue with it. My face is red, and I sometimes get pimples on it. Could you help please?

Rosacea gets worse if you are under stress or have spicy foods. Drink fresh, filtered water a couple of times a day. Apply a regular mask made of cucumber pulp and a pinch of turmeric powder; this will take care of both your rosacea and pimples. I'm sure your skin will get better shortly.
I am from Al Ain and trying your gourd-in-coconut oil treatment. My hair is becoming thin and doesn't grow. I am 51. Please help.

How long have you been using the treatment? It is important to give it three months at least in order to see results. I would also suggest you do some yoga; it stimulates circulation and improves both skin and hair conditions. Eat healthy and always add green, leafy vegetables and nuts to your diet. Do check with a doctor to get a blood test done, because, at times, hormonal imbalance causes hair to thin.
I am a 10-year-old girl. I have blackheads on my nose. Also, I have lots of lice. Can you please suggest a remedy?

Neem oil or fenugreek paste can be applied to hair partings; rinse your scalp after an hour; then, use a fine-tooth comb through your hair. You will see the lice will fall off. Do this twice a week. For blackheads: first, steam your face, then apply a face mask of baking soda paste; when dry, scrub off. Apply aloe vera gel to moisturise. Your blackheads will clear. Also, cold water rinses are better than warm ones.
