When I was younger, I had fair skin. But ever since I have been playing sports outdoors, my skin has turned dark. Do you have a remedy?
- Name withheld
Skin gets tanned if your diet lacks water, fresh green vegetables and fruits. and, of course, if you are constantly in the sun without sun protection. Take 2 tablespoons of fresh tomato juice and 1 teaspoon of lime juice; add some corn flour and make a thick paste. Apply to your face. Scrub off after it's dried, and follow with a cold water rinse. Do this everyday. Your skin will brighten up soon.
I am 16 years old, and have a lot of facial hair. Is there any home remedy to remove them?
- Hanna
Facial hair can be reduced if you have never tampered with your natural hair. Take rice starch (with the soft, sticky rice in it) and add some turmeric powder to it. Apply a thick mask of this mix on your face. When semi-dry, scrub against hair growth. Do this thrice a week.

I'm 43 years old and suffering from severe hair fall (it started increasing after 40). Recognising the importance of castor oil (thanks to your tips), I started applying a lukewarm mix of
castor oil, olive oil and coconut oil. Since castor oil is very sticky, it leaves my hair oily even after washing many times. My friend suggested I use lemon juice to wash away the castor oil from hair. But since I use Vatika Black (hair colour) for my white hair, the colour went away after I applied lemon juice. Please suggest an alternative.

Castor oil thickens and helps with hair growth. You need to mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil and half a teaspoon castor oil; steam your hair before massaging this into the scalp. Always rinse with warm water; then, massage the shampoo. The scalp will be clear of the oil. Final rinse should be with cool water. Lemon adds sheen to hair, but it does not affect the hair colour.

Please advise how I can get rid of stress lines under my eyes.
- Leanne
Patting the eyes with chilled fingers is a good way to tone the sluggish eye area. Apply a mask of carrot juice and honey to moisturise skin around the eyes, and smoothen the lines. Do this thrice a week.

I've had a bad habit of chewing on the skin around my fingertips for a long time. The skin around my nails has become red as a result, and looks unsightly. I want to make them look better. Do you have a remedy for me?
- Kirti
Castor oil is actually a nourishing oil. Apply around the finger tips and wrap them by wearing cotton gloves to make sure the castor oil remains in place. Do this every day for quick results.
