Cloudy weather to continue today

Residents driving on Shaikh Zayed Road on Wednesday night and onto the early hours of Thursday, who thought that it might rain, were not alone. Clouds dominated a large part of the horizon and the weekend will be no different.

Friday will see a dipped visibility due to the dominance of haze. Clouds will gradually increase over different areas, especially the north, with a chance of rainfall at night.

The country will see low pressure from the east and high pressure from the northwest (northern and central Saudi Arabia).

This system will generate a pressure gradient over our area with a fresh northwesterly wind flow, becoming strong at times especially over the sea and the western areas, and will move towards the rest of the country, causing sand to blow and dust-in-suspension over scattered areas.

The fresh to strong northwesterly wind will start to affect the sea by evening and by night, the sea will become rough to very rough.

The condition will continue until Friday. As with Thursday, the wind will cause dust/sand to blow, which will reduce visibility and increase the relative humidity by night and continue to early morning, while a significant fall of temperature will occur in those early hours.
