The third day of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2017) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (Navdex 2017), saw over Dh4billion worth of military procurement deals made with national and international companies. Although the signed contracts with global entities are expected to exceed last year's , it is the UAE companies that are taking the lead, as 19 out of the 31 deals signed on Tuesday were made with local companies, specialising in military, defence and armour.

Naval Staff Colonel Fahed Nasser Al Thehli, official apokesperson of Navdex 2017, said more successful deals are to be expected by Thursday. "The deals today reached up to Dh4.075 billion, which gives us a sign of great success. The deals are not only for armed forces, but also for air forces and for the navy," he told Khaleej Times.
Naval Staff Al Thehli pointed out that the deals for the navy reached Dh320 million on Tuesday.
