Though today's weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general, rain may hit some parts of the UAE, the National Centre of Meteorology said.

Temperatures may drop to as low as 16 degrees Celsius in the mountains but can go as high as 38 degrees Celsius in internal regions.

Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally picking up speed. It will be blowing from the northwest to the southeast at speeds between 10 and 25 kilometres per hour, with gusts up to 40km per hour.

The sea will be slight to moderate. The sea may become rough at times by night in Oman Sea, and with clouds activity in the Arabian Gulf.

Today's rain forecast comes ahead of stormy predictions in the region for the coming week.

Unstable weather conditions will be impacting the UAE as a result of an extension of a "low surface pressure", the NCM said in a previous report.

Heavy rain may hit some parts of the country from Sunday, and a hailstorm — accompanied by lightning and thunder — may strike from Monday to Tuesday, it said.
