In loop with the spirit of the UAE National Day, Emiratis and expats have expressed their gratitude and love for the UAE.
A country that rose from the sands of time to become the land of opportunity, the transformation attained in last 45 years is nothing short of spectacular.
"I have learnt one thing being an Emirati; to call yourself a true Emirati, you have to prove yourself of being worthy of it. It is not enough to hold an Emirati passport and call yourself an Emirati. All Emiratis have done their best and are continuing to do so, to make this country one of the best countries in the world," says Faisal Barout.
What's interesting is the fact that the country is home to more expats than Emiratis, and these expats resonate similar emotions about their second home.
"I have seen this country grow and the growth of the country is also reflected in my personal growth," says Namrata Vaswani, an Indian expat. "The country has given me a lot to cherish since I have come here. I call it a land of opportunity for people who have a vision and the grit and determination to work hard towards achieving what they want in their lives," she says.

"I love the UAE because it is the one place in the world that has everything I love and need - family, friends, work, fun and a strong feeling of security," says Ariane Gomez, a Filipino expat living in the UAE for 5 years.
Australian expat Jake Lyle talks aboit his favourite thing about the country. "The fact it's never boring here in the UAE makes me love the country. I feel that no matter what your hobbies are, UAE will certainly accommodate them. From shopping to dining, skydiving and desert safaris, UAE has it all."
Semia Azaiz, a French national living in the UAE, tells us her top three reasons for being in love with the country. "The first is the fact that the country is a melting pot of different cultures where you can meet people of so many different nationalities and different walks of life. Secondly, I believe it is in true sense a land of opportunities. Lastly, I feel that the quality of life here is so much better, like nowhere else."
British national Matthew John, who has been living in the UAE for two years, tells Khaleej Times about how he has found the perfect work-life balance while working in the UAE.
"One of the major reasons I love UAE is the work-life balance here. I believe that the UAE appreciates hard work and is generous and understanding of the requirement for recuperation of its expat community," he says.
