The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation will begin applying a new classification system for private sector professions called 'the Emirati Vocational Classification', starting Tuesday.
The scheme will be applied on a trial basis targeting all private companies registered with the ministry in Umm Al Quwain. Later on, it will be rolled out throughout the country.
A decision to this end was issued by Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, on the latest list of vocations updated in the ministry's system.
The decision hereby revoked the currently applied classification scheme in the country since 1988, which includes about 3,000 professions.
More details are awaited.
