During a mock fire drill at the hotel civil defence personnel demonstrated how the blaze could be put off alongside evacuation of people and handling of casualties.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, Assistant Director of RAK Civil Defence, who headed the training programme said the programme was intended to teach hotel workers and visitors how they could protect themselves or help others and the police or the civil defence in case of a fire. Police and hospital ambulances and a police helicopter were used for the training and demonstration.
