Emirati twins Mazna and Saif Al Badi were celebrating an extra special birthday on Saturday. Not only was it their first ever, but the two bundles of joy were also noted as one of the UAE's first babies of Eid, after being born just moments after Eid Al Fitr was announced.
"The birth of our twins by the time Eid was declared was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is doubled for us," the proud father Humaid Saeed A Badi said.
Weighting just 2kg each, Mazna was the first to be born at about 7.40pm, with Saif making his entry into the world about one minute later.
The twins were not actually due for another two weeks, but clearly they timed their arrival date perfectly with one of the most celebrated of Eids.
The duo - born at the Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi - are the family's firstborn.
And although the happy couple was showered with congratulations following the birth of their beautiful twins, Humaid said he also wanted to congratulate the UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this "very special day".
Delivered by Dr Zahraa Mehsen, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology and Fetal Medicine specialist at the hospital, she said both baby and mother were in good health.
The second Eid baby at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children arrived just a few hours later at 11.40pm, and weighed a healthy 3kg.
Baby Mohammed Al Mansouri is the second child for the family and his father said they were "overjoyed".
"He is in good health and we have named him Mohammed. We are extremely happy to have him join us just as Eid was declared."
Speaking about the special deliveries, Vino Nallaya, CEO of the hospital, said they were expecting to welcome "another three babies" by the end of the day (Sunday).
