From theft to water pipe leakage, residents of Sharjah can reach out to Sharjah Community Police without any delay in their emergency situations.
Sharjah Community Police will now be patrolling in five advanced vehicles in residential areas with a focus on curbing crime and illegal activities.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Colonel Ali Saif Al Nadas, Director of the Community Police, said that the new patrolling cars are well equipped with highly-advanced technologies that are suitable for emergencies and patrols in residential areas.
He explained that the new cars will be distributed in all police stations used by community police patrols to intensify efforts to ensure safety and security among local residents.
These vehicles, he noted, will have a significant role to play in preventing crimes such as thefts at commercial shops, as well as in responding to fires and other emergency situations.
The number of cars will soon be increased to cover all areas of the emirate.
"The patrols using these cars will be responsible of solving all community issues including small ones such as water pipe breakages, power defaults, fighting and other street problems and refer them to concerned authority to follow it and solve it," he added.
These patrols will also look into community cases in which secrecy is required, such as in dealing with fights that require witnesses.
