A driver lost control over his truck due to lack of sleep and exhaustion and crashed into a villa in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday. The 38-year-old Pakistani is recuperating in a critical condition in a city hospital, according to the police.
The villa was damaged in the crash, but none of its residents were injured.
According to Colonel Ahmed Al Naqbi, Deputy Director of Traffic Department, the police were notified about the crash in the morning, following which police patrols and paramedics were rushed to the site.
Al Naqbi urged drivers to take adequate rest between shifts to avoid fatigue while driving.
