A Filipina woman was saved from dying, thanks to a team of UAE paramedics.
On an Instagram post, the National Ambulance shared the thrilling story of how a team of paramedics, led by Mohammed Al Shdaifat saved a group of workers at their accommodation in Ras Al Khaimah.
According to the post, Al Shdaifat's team responded to a resident who found her four workmates unconscious. When they arrived in the scene, they suspected a gas leak as the cause of injuries. Al Shdaifat's team of EMTs then put on their masks and moved them to safety. The workers were then given first aid and transferred to a nearby hospital.
After the initial emergency, Al Shdaifat assessed the area and believed that people around the area were at risk. He asked police to check and ensure that there was no one left inside the building.
Following the police, they came across a room where they found a Filipina woman lying unconscious on the floor. Al Shdaifat and his colleague, Nino David, carried the woman out of the room and attended to her. National Ambulance shared a photo of the Filipina along with the two paramedics.
National Ambulance team goes above and beyond to save a life . . Faced with personal danger and born out of a desire to save lives, EMT Team leader, Mohammed Alshdaifat, with the support of his team, took the unprecedented step that saved a lady's life. National Ambulance team arrives on scene in response to a shift worker finding four of his colleagues in Ras Al Khaimah unconscious in the accommodation they live in. On suspecting that the cause of the injuries was a potential gas leak, the EMTs immediately put on their mask and moved the patients out of the dangerous situation. On assessing their condition they found them all to be in a critical condition. After receiving proper treatment, three of them regained consciousness, improving their condition from critical to moderate upon which the patients were transferred to hospital by four ambulances on site. While the patients were being transported to the ambulances, the EMT team leader, Mohammed Al Shdaifat, further assessing the situation,noted a potential secondary location. Being familiar with the surroundings, he believed there were other people onsite at risk. He immediately asked the Police on site to check if there was anybody in the building. The police knocked and there was no response but Al Shdaifat asked them to enter the building to ensure there were no potential victims inside. Following the police entering the building, a lady was found lying on the floor, unconscious and the EMT team leader with the help of his partner Nino David attended her immediately saving her life! Both Mohammed Al Shdaifat and Nino David expressed their joy in being able to save a life. Al Shdaifat said: "Saving lives is part of our job but in this case it meant even more as we went the extra mile in our work." David said: "This was an example of teamwork and excellence by National Ambulance in saving lives and serving the community." The patient, Gina Dometita, said: "I am so grateful to the team at National Ambulance for saving my life.
