The Ajman Police have honoured two men - both Arabs - for their humanitarian act: one of them saved a man from drowning and the other prevented a clash.
Saeed Habbaz from Morroco was strolling on Ajman beach when he heard someone scream for help. He saw an Asian man - who had gone deep into the sea to swim - struggling to keep himself afloat. Without giving it a second thought, Habbaz jumped into the seawater and braved the currents. He pulled the man to safety on the shore till the rescue arrived at the site.
In another incident, Mohammed Hussain Al Shayeb, an Egyptian, risked his life while mediating and trying to appease two Asians, who were involved in a fight and set to assault each other. Shayeb managed to cool down their nerves and prevented a certain clash until the police arrived at the scene. The cops took the duo to the police station and solved their dispute amicably.
Habbaz and Shayeb were felicitated by the police for their quick thinking and action.
Col Ali Jabr Al Shamsi, director of Ajman Police stations, said that the police always honour members of community for their cooperation to ensure safety and security, and praised Habbaz and Shayeb for their humanitarian initiative.
