Kids are being encouraged to swap screens for a dose of "organic play" during magical, giant bubble making show at the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, currently underway at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Samuel Barnaby Heath (aka Bubble 07) - UK-based "bubbleologist" and owner of Bubble Inc - entertained an audience of excited children during his bubble making session at SCRF, crafting a bubble carousel, making bubbles the size of the entire front row, and getting young visitors to count out his bubbles in Arabic and English.
"Today, too many kids are surrounded by computer and TV screens," says Samuel, the man who wowed crowds with his giant bubbles at the London Olympics, and who has crafted bubbles to please the likes of royals and celebrities like Prince Charles, Sir Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga, amongst others. "Modern kids don't get a chance to experience the joys of organic play quite like we used to when we were little, which is where the business of bubbles comes in. They inspire people to be more playful and imaginative, which can only be a good thing."
