Flagship carriers Emirates and Etihad have issued a statement as some flights in Munich were either cancelled or diverted
During the workshop, the participants representing major real estate developers in the emirate of Dubai were briefed about Dubai Executive Council's decree No. 58 of 2017 on the adoption of fees and fines for the disposal of waste in the emirate of Dubai, which will come into force from May 17 this year.
Eng. Abdulmajeed Saifaie, Director of Waste Management Department at Dubai Municipality, urged the concerned people to look out for more details on the municipality website.
He added that the awareness workshop, attended by representatives of 71 real estate developers, included a number of working papers, the most important of which was a paper entitled "Fees and fines for disposal of waste in the Emirate of Dubai".
"Another session was entitled "Environmental effects of the disposal of waste", with constructive discussion and interaction based on all the points and focuses of the decree, which seeks first and foremost to regulate the waste management sector in the emirate and to consolidate the principles and foundations of achieving sustainable development in this sector, namely the principle of separating waste from all sources of domestic, commercial and industrial," added Saifaie.
"It is worth noting that there are many industrial and commercial companies that have already started implementing waste reduction plans and that the number of these companies and institutions is expected to increase after adoption and implementation of the decree," he said.
