A man stood trial for sexual harassment charges at the Dubai Court of First Instance after he allegedly groped a woman in public.
The court heard that the 45-year-old Indian, a manager, inappropriately and intentionally touched a Filipina woman who was busy talking to her friend.
He denied the charge at court.
The complainant, a Filipina training manager, 44, said the incident took place at 1: 40pm on March 4. "I was walking with my friend in Al Karama when that man stretched out his hand and groped me. I yelled at him."
A police lieutenant said he heard from the complainant's friend, who witnessed the incident, that the accused sexually harassed her as they had just walked out from a typing centre. She said it happened as they were walking. Her friend got angry and told her to call the police."
The trial will continue on May 17.
