A 38-year-old Arab resident died after he crashed his vehicle into a roundabout due to the fog in Ras Al Khaimah. A 37-year-old man, who was sitting with him, sustained injuries in the accident that was reported on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road.
Brigadier Hassan Ibrahim, deputy director general of the central operations room, said they were alerted about the mishap at 3:15am on Sunday.
Initial investigations revealed that low visibility caused by the dense fog was to blame for the accident. After the driver lost control over the vehicle, it flipped over several times.
Both men were rushed to the nearest hospital, where the driver succumbed to his injuries shortly later.
