Residents of fire-hit Ajman One Tower are exempted from payment for renewal of leasing contract.
The Ajman One Towers that gutted last week in massive fire has left 300 families homeless as it destroyed 500 flats.
Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality, on Sunday issued an order to exempt affected tenants from paying fees for the leasing contract in the current year.
Al Nuaimi said that the gesture is part of the municipality's efforts to adopt the social responsibility and spread importance of voluntary service in the society.
He added that the initiative is a national duty for the municipality towards residents of the emirate.
He instructed the Leasing Contract Department at the municipality to waive the 2 per cent fees for the tenants affected by the fire.
The tenants have to prove before the department that they are victims of the fire.
