The annual JPS Spring Fair, hosted by the Parent Teachers Association of Jumeirah Primary School (JPS) to provide education to underprivileged children, will welcome around 5,000 people on February 24.
Over the last two years, the school's PTA has partnered with Dubai Cares to build two schools in developing countries, for which the  money was raised through the last two Spring Fairs. The first donation in 2015 funded a primary school in Nepal while last year's donation will be used to build another similar school in the South East African country of Malawi.
Each year, the fair attracts people from the local community, all of whom enjoy the various games stalls and food stalls hosted by each class at JPS.
There is a Spring Fair committee that works on the event for almost a whole year on a volunteer basis. Teachers, parents and the students of the school have their share in organising the fair.
"The joy of working towards a common goal and supporting other world citizens has a huge impact on our JPS students and families. Their hard work and time allows for other children to access schooling in areas where education is the means to a self-sufficient future. There is nothing more important in the world than education to ensure progress for people and nations," said Rachel Higgins, principal/CEO of the school.
Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has, over the last three years, provided thousands of children in developing countries with access to quality education.
