A GCC national was charged with possessing and abusing narcotics at the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court after he obtained them from a friend.
As per the court records, the accused had stopped doing drugs for two years under the supervision of the punitive and correctional institutions of the Ras Al Khaimah Police. The defendant, detained over charges of consuming drugs, claimed that the narcotics found on him were used as painkillers.
He denied possessing and abusing narcotic drugs while driving his car. He claimed that the second accused involved in the case did not provide him with the drugs and that he managed to get it from other friends.
As per the documents, the accused was caught red-handed while driving his car on one of the emirate's roads.
He was referred to the RAK Criminal Court which ordered adjournment of the case to August 28.
