First Security Group set up

This note was made by Major-General (retd) Sharafuddin Al Sayed Hussain, Chairman of the Group, who together with nine retired police officers, founded the Group in May last year with a paid-up capital Dh20 million and received the blessings and support of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, the patron of the launch ceremony held yesterday at Grand Hyatt hotel.

In the attendance of Shaikh Ahmad bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who represented Gen. Shaikh Mohammed at the event, Maj-Gen Sharafuddin revealed that the Group which will have its permanent offices in the University City, will include the establishment of the first of its kind academy which will offer Bachelor's degree in Art of Security. The academy will also offer training programmes to staff of companies operating in the field of security, he noted.


Craig Standbridge, Group's Managing Director, said the Academy was discussing with international entities specialised in security services at academic and technical levels and with local academic institutions to receive international and accreditation to the training and academic programmes.
