Surprised commuters could be seen debating how to get past the waterlogged ground level to exit the station after disembarking from the metro. Videos posted on social media show commuters wading through ankle-deep water inside the station. Many passengers removed their shoes and rolled up their trousers to navigate the station.
Dubai commuter Huma Baloch was shocked to see the amount of water accumulated and never imagined she would witness a flooded metro station in the emirate.
The 30-year-old Indian expat boarded the metro from ADCB station to reach her workplace in Al Quoz, with operations running smoothly until commuters reached Onpassive. "When we disembarked, I saw water on the ground floor and was taken aback. Water was entering the premises from outside through the gate due to a slope. My shoes and clothes all got wet when leaving the station," Huwa said.
She added that since the bus services were delayed due to waterlogging, many people preferred to walk to their offices in the vicinity.

Unstable weather conditions have also impacted services from UAE Exchange to Dubai Internet City stations. The RTA did not specify the reason for the disruption, but assured that bus services will be provided for commuters in the affected areas.
The Road and Transport Authority has also announced extended operating hours for April 16, with the metro running until 3:00 am the following day.
