Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, praised the efforts of institutions and teachers who spread knowledge in their sincere efforts to improve education and meet the growing demands of this society. This took place during the inauguration of the School Security Initiative.
Competence keeps pace with the prosperity witnessed by the UAE in all fields. Nurturing generations capable of thinking, innovating, creating, and continuing the march towards progress allows this country to reach the highest standards of global competitiveness.
The initiative was launched in the presence of Marwan Ahmed Al-Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education; Abdulrahman Nasser, Executive Director of Knowledge and Human Development Authority; Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Ahmed Bin Fahd, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic and Training Affairs; Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri; General Mohammed Ahmed Bin Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Ports Affairs.
Al Marri stressed that the development of the security system whilst strengthening partnerships with all communal institutions instills confidence in its members. Educational institutions in particular are key to cultivating the leaders of the future and protectors of this homeland.
"We have sought to develop these partnerships through the launch of initiatives that contribute to strengthening such ties. The Dubai Police General Command has given great importance to instilling an identity that seeks happiness."
Al-Marri added that the launch of such initiatives is a cornerstone of a strong partnership between institutions that go above and beyond the traditional concept of government. This partnership gives rise to the development of an integrated, cohesive society with national values.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman Al Malek, Director of Rashidiyah Police Station and the Head of the Initiative, said that the initiative comes under the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
The Dubai Educational Zone and other educational institutions value the contribution of Dubai Police and its relevant departments to academic environments. Their assistance in consolidating security is paramount because of its effect on the stability of future generations.
He stressed the keenness of Dubai Police on the security of students, ensuring their safety, and the safety of road users in general. Such initiatives instill a cognizance of traffic rules and the fundamental need for safety.
This comes in line with programmes that also educate school bus drivers on preventive measures that must be followed during the shuttling of students to and from school in addition to compliance with designated speed limits.
They are trained in the avoidance of non-traffic violations, rehabilitation of private security guards in schools on the functions of the traffic policeman to regulate traffic and vehicular traffic in front of school gates, and the monitoring of students' entry and exit. Scouts also organise traffic at schools during peak hours.
During the inauguration of the initiative, the children of Dubai Police Nursery in Jumeirah presented a technical paragraph followed by an arts performance and a patriotic song. Thereafter, Al-Marri then launched the Eco-Friendly Schools patrols.
