An Arab man, who works as a manager at a private company in Dubai, was found guilty of sexually harassing two of his female staff. He was sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to pay a Dh10,000 fine.
The first victim, a divorced employee, said the convict lured her into an empty room, saying she was required for an urgent matter. He then sexually harassed her, court records show.
The victim attempted to scream and threatened to inform their manager and the police, but the accused insulted her and threatened to dismiss her if she reported the incident.
In a separate case, the other woman claimed that after her husband died, the accused started calling her repeatedly for unncessary matters that have nothing to do with work. He would bring up her 'loneliness' and eventually began sending inappropriate messages.
Following investigations, the Court of First Instance convicted the manager and fined him Dh10,000. He took the case to the Court of Appeals, but it was rejected. He will be deported after serving his jail term.
