The first-ever Instagram Rich List has just been unveiled and it shows the top earners in popular social media platform. A Dubai-based businesswoman not only made it to the list of Instagram's Richest, she also topped her category.
Huda Kattan, the founder of beauty brand Huda Beauty, topped the list of Instagram's top 10 highest earning social media influencers. Her Instagram page, which has 20.6 million followers as of the time of writing, earns $18,000 per post. To better illustrate that, Kattan earns a staggering Dh66,000 for every Instagram post she makes.
She is followed by actor Cameron Dallas who earns $17,000 per post, fitness model Jen Selter who earns $15,000 and Youtuber and author Zoella who earns $14,000.
Kattan's company, Huda Beauty is known throughout the world as the go-to brand for many A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian. She also enjoys a massive following in Dubai where her company is based.
On the celebrity end of the spectrum, the list is topped by pop singer Selena Gomez. Gomez earns a whopping $550,000 (Dh2 million) per post. She is followed by Kim Kardashian who is short of $50,000 for the top spot. Kardashian earns $500,000 (Dh1.8 million) per post.
According to the Daily Mail, the Instagram Rich List is divided between celebrities and 'influencers' who monetise their posts using Instagram's bevy of advertising features. Who would have thought way back that a selfie could rake in such copious amounts of money?
