The Abu Dhabi Police called on the public to cooperate in preserving the capital's environment by adhering to the traffic laws and regulations.
Abu Dhabi Police announced on social media a fine for Dh1,000 and six black points for throwing trash from vehicles on the road.
"The disposal of waste from vehicles on a public road, whether by the driver or passengers, is a negative behaviour that affects significantly the environment and may cause traffic accidents," police said.
The police stressed that there will be no negligence in implementing the law on any driver who throws waste from his/her vehicle. The police added that traffic patrols and smart systems monitor drivers' behaviour on the road and will stop any law violators.
